Once again, Google has dropped a bomb on the SEO world. This time it’s a new spam-fighting algorithm update that goes by the surprisingly innocuous name of ‘Google Penguin’. Needless to say, there has been considerable fallout just days after the release.

If we look at things from Google’s point of view, the update was released with the aim to provide more relevant results for search terms. While webmasters and small businesses, struggling to get their websites ranked on Google, see these updates as a menace determined to push them off the grid, Google is actually trying to clean up the SERPs from irrelevant web pages that don’t deserve the spot. If you are a website owner guilty of practices such as link spamming on forums, leaving comments and responses on unrelated content and duplicate content, it is highly likely that you have also been penalised and possibly even kicked off the rankings altogether.

Of course, there are those who have actually seen massive ranking leaps as well. While the culprits of shady link building practices have been unceremoniously nudged off the rankings, the websites that have been adhering to Google’s policies by offering unique and valuable content along with ethical SEO practices have been rewarded with higher rankings. Nowadays, many SEO companies and content writers are a dime-a-dozen. Therefore, it is time for website owners to consider quality SEO services providers that stick to Google’s guidelines so as not to have their clients tumbling down the rankings with each update to the algorithm.

One important thing to wrap your brain around is the fact that Google is actually removing the credibility of poor quality links. Of course, the more poor quality links you have placed on behalf of your website, the harder it will fall down the rankings. One way to avoid Penguin’s scrutinizing glare is to consider SEO practices that focus more on high quality themed content, clean URLs and appealing websites rather than scattering links high and low. Yes, this will take time and effort but it is a much better alternative to cringing at every update Google implements. Moderation of SEO practices and proper social networking presence are the key points of managing high and stable website rankings in the long run.

People use Google for a variety of reasons. When it comes to business, they use the search engine mainly to attract customers. Of course, Google knows this. However, instead of taking the side of the businesses, Google chose to provide relevant search results for users. Hence the guidelines imposed on website content, keyword density and backlinks. It seems that every step that Google takes to improve the search quality for its users, it creates a whole new set of complications for website owners. The latest introduction to the mix is geared towards allowing users to find the websites of businesses that are easily accessible.

Although online shopping sites has eliminated the need to actually visit stores to purchase products, some businesses still do require physically present customers to land a deal. Google Places is the latest solution for businesses who are hoping to bring in local customers into their establishments. Google Places allows several features for websites to achieve this. For instance, it allows businesses to specify the geographical areas that they serve, post real time updates and to upload pictures. In addition, for a small fee of $25 a month, Google Places will let you select specific cities and to use tags to make your business extra prominent on the search engine listings as well as on Google Maps.

All of these features are highly useful when it comes to driving clients your way. The real time update feature is great when it comes to advertising events, promotions and even discount coupons. As of now, over 4 million businesses have signed up for Google Places. The main purpose of the Place Pages is to make sure that customers are able to make more informed decisions on where to shop, eat and hang out. Of course, this is great for travel and tourism as well. With over 50 million places available, even local tourist attractions such as parks, museums and art galleries too have a chance to connect with visitors.

All in all, Google Places is ideal when it comes to finding exactly what you want on the internet. For businesses, it would mean extra hard work to maintain their rankings. Most SEO specialists are now stating that a company’s position in Google Places can be of even more value in comparison to regular search positions.

How do SEO Professionals find out and adjust their game whenever Google releases another update? Mostly, by reading their regular blog updates. What about Bing? Although Bing is not so heavily used to attain dictionary word status as Google has (as a verb that literally means ‘to use an internet search engine’), it is still in use and therefore, is also important to SEO.

Of course, many SEO bloggers see Google’s move to broadcast their every update as an attempt to fight the anti-trust accusations. However, Bing is not dealing with such allegations. Therefore, Bing’s move to offer search quality insights is seen as a method to attract the attention of users. The theory is simple, if users are given updates on what’s going on with Bing, they may want to try and ‘Bing it’ for a change.

According to a statement issued by Bing on the matter, their Bing Search Quality Insights blog series is geared toward providing its users with information on its trends, algorithms as well as the brains behind operations. Bing also quotes that the quality improvements for Bing are quite subtle but are not to be ignored as they are the results of years of research and development. In fact, the statement proves that Bing is attempting to be a little bit more like Google, but without the anti-trust claim drama of course.

If we are to consider Google, who started the Search Quality Insight trend, it was done with the purpose of allowing their users to gain some insight into their practice. Instead of suddenly waking up to dropped rankings or unexpected fluctuations, SEO professionals now have the luxury of finding out about any updates to Google’s algorithm and take necessary measures before they are put into action.

Tech experts say that Bing’s move will achieve two things. One, it does have the potential to attract people, to check out the search engine. Two, this will also be good for Google as Bing’s adaptation of its practice will be seen as a sort of support for its practices that have often attracted controversy and of course, the infamous allegations. Since Bing has decided to follow suit, it is expected that Google’s allegations may dry out eventually. Nowadays, the internal workings of search engines are not a great mystery and it’s about time that Bing decided to follow in the footsteps of the most popular search engine.

What are SEO Submission services? It’s defined as a process of submitting your website data mainly title, description and keywords to search engines, directories, social sites, blogs, and forums to get proper solidity for your websites. SEO submission services are important and essential for boosting your business in addition to specialized search engine marketing tools. When you wish to use some mode of marketing that can guarantee instant popularity to your business, you should turn to SEO services. Only these professionals know how to track results on a daily basis efficiently without making any mistakes, how to juggle the keywords and how to include new ones to get more traffic to your site. The SEO submission services carry out difficult tasks of Internet marketing or website promotion and save you time, which you can instead utilize to focus on the core areas of your business. SEO techniques are far more effective compared to banners, text advertisements or social media. With SEO submission services, you can get free-targeted traffic once your website gets a higher ranking. It is cost effective when compared to pay per click advertising. A well-designed SEO site guarantees long-term results. When there is higher traffic to your site, it automatically means higher visibility, greater sales and consequently more profit.

Therefore, investing in SEO services is always worth every penny you spend because it means more revenue, more awareness, publicity and popularity. SEO Submissions are of mainly ten ways such as directory submission, article submission, social bookmarks, blog post submission, search engine submission, press releases, blog comments; social media profile creations, blog submissions and video submissions. For example social bookmarking is the practice of saving bookmarks to a public Web site and “tagging” them with keywords. Bookmarking, on the other hand, is the practice of saving the address of a Web site you wish to visit in the future on your computer. To create a collection of social bookmarks, you register with a social bookmarking site, which lets you store bookmarks, add tags of your choice, and designate individual bookmarks as public or private. And in SEO (search engine optimization) strategies, Article Submission has got a great deal of importance and relevance. Article Publishing not only bring one way link but also help in building a brand and increase targeted traffic. Video submission is designed in such a way that it will improve visibility for search engine optimization by bringing traffic and brand popularity. If you have promotional video but it does not rank in search engine it is of not much use.

SEO companies will ensure that the videos are used to optimize your online video content also by writing key-rich word captions and annotations or even by creating online video libraries. Many SEO Submission companies have sprout up all over the world offering spending content material by recruiting some of the very talented writers around

In late February, Google confirmed the release of Panda 3.3, the latest update to the search engine’s algorithm. And as usual, it is already causing some serious debate around the internet. This update is geared towards increasing the quality of search results.
One of the most noticeable changes would be the detection of popular topics. The internet picks up on various trending items and for websites that deal with current topics, this means good news. In addition, even the image search has been revamped to allow fresher images to surface. If a website has the ability to provide fresh content that is trending with current, spiking topics it has a better chance at being indexed faster and easier.

Panda 3.3 has also brought forth some changes to Google’s link evaluation methods as well. In Google’s own words:
“We often use characteristics of links to help us figure out the topic of a linked page. We have changed the way in which we evaluate links; in particular, we are turning off a method of link analysis that we used for several years. We often re-architect or turn off parts of our scoring in order to keep our system maintainable, clean and understandable.”

So, what does this mean for SEO? Well, more hard work actually. Google did not really give out many details on what exactly these changes to the link evaluation method are but, we may develop our own theories (based on old characteristics) and adjust ourselves accordingly. Characteristics such as the anchor text on links, on page content and page proximity as well as the age of a website were always given greater prominence by Google’s search algorithm. If we are to take content and proximity, if the links to a particular website are placed among content that is directly connected to its subject matter, there is a better chance of being indexed. Of course, some experts are under the impression that now, Google only pays attention to links that are placed with relevant content. In addition, there is also some talk on how affiliate links may not have much influence on page rankings.

With the rise of mobile searches, local searches are also given a chance to shine. Google mentioned a new system that will deliver results that are local to users thus increasing the value of keywords with locations attached.

It seems like Panda is trying really hard to deliver quality content that is highly relevant for the search terms entered by a user. While this is all good for consumers and internet users, SEO professionals are expected to up their game to keep up with the new demands.

One thing that is constant in search engine optimization is definitely change. The field is rapidly emerging, developing and changing depending upon the market demands and requirements. SEO has a few basic principles that will never change, but search engine routinely refine their algorithms. As they are usually very secretive about their search algorithms, the field is always perceived with uncertainty and doubt. Search is becoming far more technical and in many ways, far more specific. We are able to witness a lot of changes, new tools and different concepts used today. With the increase in the number of people having access to internet, SEO has become an important part of the marketing mix. In order to stay ahead in this marketing game, the SEO specialists have to remain on their toes to tap this ever growing market. The past year has been one of major transition in the search engine industry with the steady erosion of Google’s dominance over the last year; a lot has changed and taken place.

Out of the many different trends that SEO is following, Localization and Personalization are two commonly used words in the present SEO industry. Localized search results guarantees relevance to the searcher by delivering search results from sources within a reasonable travelling distance such as postal/ zip codes or area codes. Local search sites are primarily supported by advertising from businesses that wish to be prominently featured when users search for specific products and services in specific locations. Local search advertising can be highly effective because it allows ads to be targeted very precisely to the search terms and location provided by the user. Search engines offer local businesses the possibility to upload their business data to their respective local search databases. A search that references a product or service that is typically consumed locally, such as “restaurant” or “massage spa”, is an implicit local search. Personalized searches on the other hand promise listings based on specific interests on behaviors of the individual searcher. Some search engines base their searches on two major factors such as the user’s personal behavior and then the behavior of friends and others belonging to a social or work group. The idea behind this is that groups share common interests, thus it’s more convenient for business owners to have their websites placed at a high rank in search engines as search queries by those interests may produce better and more personalized results. And also by personalizing the users results based on the results of search history, Search engines deliver the most relevant and useful content for the search.

Smartphones have managed to gain a massive amount of popularity within the past few years. The success of mobile operating systems such as iOS for iPhones and Android have allowed people to get their hands on various mobile handheld devices and to use them for purposes that are a bit beyond making phone calls. For instance, apart from taking photographs and listening to music, smartphones and tablets are often used by their owners to access the internet as well.

Why is this relevant for SEO? Well, more and more people have resorted to carry around tablets and smartphones instead of lugging their laptops around. In fact, there is a high possibility that the numbers of people who are using mobile devices to access the internet are may exceed that of those who access the internet via computers. Some website owners have gone as far to create separate mobile versions of their existing sites. Although this is actually a great way to make sure that your mobile users are not inconvenienced in any way, it is not necessarily a top requirement for SEO.

This is mainly due to the fact that mobile websites do not get any special treatment from search engines. For Google, Yahoo and Bing, it doesn’t really matter how people search for things. Whether they use mobile devices or regular computers, it really doesn’t matter. Of course, when it comes to marketing, making sure that the website is accessible from all devices is important. However, it could complicate matters if you don’t stick to the right methods.

For instance, it not a very bright idea to create a mobile site with a domain that is independent of your regular site. If you have already gone ahead and done it, you can remedy it by setting up a 301 redirect so that it can be viewed at a domain that is attached to the parent site. It is also a good idea to specify your location when setting up a mobile site. Since search engines like to assume that your viewers are searching for local sites, specifying your location can actually make some business from local clients.

As of now, there is no great rush to create mobile friendly websites. However, creating one now will be of great advantage when mobile users start to outnumber the regular PC users.

Search engine optimization or SEO is the simple activity of ensuring a website can be found in search engines for words and phrases relevant to what the site is offering.it is the use of methods and techniques that improves the visibility of a website. Therefore SEO needs to be managed properly to ensure that good ideas and thoughts are put into actionable recommendations and completed by deadlines.

Below are some of the popular tools that are available now and were not found earlier. This is majorly due to the rapid growth of the SEO industry. So of the tools that are necessary for SEO to get some work done, organize work and keep team members accountable are Linkedex, BrightEdge, Searchmetrics, Sycara and Conductor Searchlight. These SEO tools help us earn plenty of SEO marketing moneys and helps to be accountable to our clients or companies thus implementing some sort of ‘discipline’ in the entire process so that some work can actually be done. Like for example Linked Ex is a totally integrated platform that’s very simple to use and helps identify and quantify the size of the natural search opportunity and absorb more value. So it’s safe to say now that SEO tools are highly necessary for the whole process to work smooth.

Which is a better marketing tool to use in order to promote your brand? Well, when the topic of defining social media is discussed, the difference in outcomes when it comes to incorporating both social media and search engine optimization is quite a noteworthy feature. The social media tactics and expected outcomes when used for a SEO program are very different than social media intended to improve customer engagement outcomes. It is a very important difference because though social media and SEO work well together, the outcomes of the two marketing tools can be very different.

One thing that brings tactical Social Media & Search Engine Optimization together for both discovery and engagement outcomes is definitely content. An effective content marketing strategy coordinates target customer and influencer personas with social content plan and SEO tactics that help brands achieve both goals.

Better relationships with customers and industry influential builds the brand, inspires trust and positive association with what the brand stands for. A strong brand drives sales because customers are aware of and trust the brand as a solution. Social media programs centered on customer engagement might focus more on creating an experience for customers through content, tools, peer networking or special programs that allow them to contribute and be recognized. Social Media for customer engagement is to build awareness, trust and often results in higher value per sale, shorter sales cycles and better customer retention on top of industry news and blog coverage.

SEO helps connect customers with brand content through search engines. Content associated with both qualitative and quantitative signals tends to be rewarded with higher search ranking, driving traffic and hopefully, sales. In the scheme of things within the customer lifecycle, SEO is a tactic focused on aiding information discovery at numerous touch points, with an emphasis on the top of the funnel. Customers have some idea of what they’re looking for and search until they find it. SEO practitioners have traditionally used social networks, news and bookmarking services to create and promote content in an effort to attract links. Those links can send traffic but are also signals for search engines to discover and rank content. Social participation is focused on mining topics and content formats that are most likely to resonate with the social community.

When marketers are encouraged to stop thinking in silos and do some due diligence with their SEO and Social Media to come up with more elegant solutions to this opportunity, there is room for better results. So much effort is wasted by not coordinating SEO, Social Media and Content Marketing together that simply nailing the basics can provide a competitive advantage. In other words results are best achieved when SEO and Social media work together.

It is not uncommon for an SEO professional to get worked up whenever a search engine does something funny. This, of course, often refers to Google. This is the search engine that millions use to find out about everything from which actor played a specific part in a movie all the way to something they want to buy. The latter is the main reason that businesses operate websites and are fighting tooth and nail to climb up the rankings. So, it is no wonder that everyone gets a little worried whenever anything strange happens on Google.

Take the ‘Google Dance’ for instance; this can be defined as specific periods of time where certain websites tend to do a little flip in the SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Pages). In other words, if you carefully monitor your rankings, there are certain times when the rankings seem to ‘dance’ across the pages.

In the old days, SEO professionals used to consider the ‘Google Dance’ as the period of time when Google released monthly updates. Nowadays, there is a different explanation in use. The world’s number one search engine releases updates all the time and not all of them are previously announced. During these updates, it is not unusual for the rankings of a particular website to do a few odd little twists and turns. However, the fluctuating rankings are not to be confused with actual rank fluctuations.

If you are a professional in the SEO trade or the owner of a website, it is important that you don’t panic when Google does its occasional dance. Of course, you should definitely keep an eye on how the site is performing but you don’t necessarily have to go into panic mode with each fluctuation. Sometimes, if you have launched a brand new website or if you have recently uploaded some content into your site, it is not uncommon to see it tanking well with a couple of sudden drops every now and then.

In the end, this is nothing to worry about. The Google Dance is simply a temporary skip. There will be no long term effects and you should not get these fluctuations mixed up with the actual decreasing of ranks.
