Why Invest in Search Engine Optimisation ...

Many people ponder why they should invest time and money in search engine optimisation for their website. The answer is really very simple, without it, you will not benefit from the maximum amount of traffic your website could generate. Traffic turns into enquires, enquires into sales. The real value in SEO is that it makes sure that you receive the focused traffic your website deserves.

On-page optimisation is a must for all websites. By performing a full on-page optimisation review this will allow you to ensure that all of your content is being indexed efficiently by the major search engines. A number of factors make up on-page optimisation, including the overall design such as; URLs, page titles, Meta descriptions and Meta tags. The content of a website is a vital ingredient and it’s essential to assess this and ensure that a key phrase or theme is being followed. On-page optimisation is often overlooked, but this is a mistake. A website must look good, be easy to use and most importantly be well optimised.

Off-page optimisation involves the promotion of a website – getting the website out there so people know about it! This is approached through link building strategies. Without off-page optimisation being successfully performed, it is highly unlikely that a website will see an improvement in its search engine rankings. This has the knock-on effect of not gaining an increase in traffic or visitors.

Once a website has been professionally optimised results can be seen in fairly short space of time. An existing website that had poor on-page can often see significant results in a matter of weeks. It’s worth remembering that new websites will always find it hard to compete with established sites. SEO is not a quick fix, it takes time, but the results and the ROI can’t be argued with. It must be approached as a long term project and the longer a website is left without any SEO the harder it will be to catch up the competition!!

Why SEO Is Important For Your Website ...

Websites have in the recent years proved to be the most powerful marketing tool as well as the best forum through which one can convey any information that can transform lives in whatever way the website owners may desire.

As a result, many people as well as businesses have established websites with a view to passing the information they need to deliver in a convenient and interactive manner. The basic essence of setting up a web site is to express the presence of your business or idea to the genera public. Given that websites are target oriented and several websites abound, it is very important to optimize your website for the search engines if your site is to serve its purpose. SEO is the only way through which you can derive any relevance from a website.

SEO gives your website the advantage of appearing whenever a page with similar credentials is requested. Basing on the fact that anybody looking for an item or any information from whatever website has to type a key word that helps the search engines to narrow down its search to the key word entered. Your website must therefore be optimized with the prominently used key words in your line of business in order to make it appear whenever information pertaining to its contents is searched by search engines.

It would be absolutely meaningless to have a website which is not search engine optimized for this would be tantamount to stocking up a store and leaving it closed all year round. How would any potential clients even imagine that there might be stuff hidden behind the locked doors that they may need. It is with this view that any website that is targeted at driving traffic to its portal must be optimized so that it features prominently whenever any one looks for content that is available, otherwise you would end up with dead stock just like you would in a permanently closed store.

Go Local with your Search Engine Optimization ...

Local (or sometimes referred to as regional) search engine optimization is a great way to build your internet presence and build your traffic and sales.

For many businesses today local searches prove more beneficial than national or global searches. The search volume will be less, but the traffic is more targeted with a reduced bounce rate. Many potential customers like to deal with local companies. As with all sites make sure your site is a user-friendly design with valuable information for the visitor, not just a landing page!!

Factors you need to consider:

(1) A full local postal address

(2) Standard phone number should be very clear. Avoid 0845/0870 numbers, doesn’t give the impression of a local company

(3) Google Maps to display your location

(4) Include detailed directions to find your location

(5) List your site in the Yellow & White pages along with regional and trade directories
